As a national organization, the PTA aims to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
Here at Douglas, the PTA strives to support, connect and engage our school community — students, families, teachers and staff — to create opportunities for growth, innovation and success.
The Douglas PTA is the sole funding source for teacher stipends and grants, schoolwide projects, student clubs, the community garden and more. We also support the school library through the Scholastic Book Fair, fund the Cultural Arts Program, and fund our school food pantry.
We pay for these programs through membership dues and fundraisers.
To help keep our school community informed and connected, we publish the Dragoneer newsletter for all families and staff about twice a month. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.
As your PTA, we promise to get creative, no matter what this year throws at us, to show our teachers that we have their backs and our kids that there is a whole community rooting for their success.
We welcome all input from our families, staff, and the wider community. Show up for our virtual PTA meetings, offer to help with a project or serve on a committee. The more involved you as our parents and families can be, the more our school community will thrive!
