- BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT, September 25
- PTA provides meal for staff (Hospitality volunteers)
- General PTA meeting – vote on any necessary positions and projects for the year (5:00-5:30 PM)
- Parents visit classrooms to learn about curriculum and classroom activities (5:30-7:00 PM)
OCTOBER
- FALL FESTIVAL, October 23 5:30-7pm
- PTA works with the school to have a night of fun and activities for families
- PTA provides popcorn and cotton candy; sell Spirit Wear
- Need volunteers for stations (roughly 12-15 volunteers total spread across 2 shifts)
- PTA provides meal for staff (Hospitality)
- RAISECRAZE, October 7-24
- Fundraiser for year long and Fall/Winter events (Teacher Reimbursements, Hospitality, Curriculum Purchases, New Teacher Mentoring Program, Garden/Grounds and Landscaping, Cultural Arts, Fall Family Night, Spelling Bee, Odyssey of the Mind, Clubs and more)
- Focus is on Acts of Kindness (AOKs)
- Students ask for pledges and donations
- Volunteers support by distributing materials and prizes
- Volunteers host school wide acts of kindness
- Previous examples: Note in the Pocket, Kindness Rocks, Campus-wide Cleanup
NOVEMBER
- PIES FOR TEACHERS November 1-11th
- Partner with Sanderson High School’s Fundraiser to buy pies for teachers (parents purchase from Sanderson’s Fundraiser and the pies are delivered to Douglas and need to be distributed to teachers/staff right before Thanksgiving)
- Volunteers needed to help with distribution one afternoon
DECEMBER
- STAFF HOLIDAY MEAL, December 19 (tentative date)
- PTA Provides holiday luncheon for the staff (Hospitality volunteers)
- Need volunteers to assist in decorating/setting up and cleaning
JANUARY
- Writer in Residence-Mimi Herman provided by United Arts Council and Douglas Elementary PTA
FEBRUARY

- Douglas Variety Show MARCH 4-5TH
- SILENT AUCTION, March 16-22
- Fundraiser
- Seeking donations from staff, businesses, families
- Pays for Yearlong and Spring activities (Hospitality, Teacher Reimbursements, Teacher Support, Cultural Arts, Spring Musical, Arts & Science Night, Field Day, 5th Grade Gifts and Celebration, New Family Welcome, and more)
APRIL
- SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR, April 20-27
- Volunteers set-up, help on preview and sales days and help with break down
- Especially need volunteers on Spring Family Night
- SPRING FAMILY NIGHT AND GENERAL PTA MEETING, April 23
- PTA provides dinner for staff (Hospitality)
