Zack Leskosky is one of those parents we see signing up to volunteer regularly. You may have seen him at the pickup line greeting your students. We appreciate his consistent willingness to lend a hand when needed. We see you and appreciate you! PTA isn’t only about fun events and fundraising, those happen (and matter!) but the PTA is one of the biggest parent‑led advocacy forces in the country. A clean, welcoming campus changes everything. Research shows that when families help improve the school environment, students experience a stronger sense of connection, they have a vested interest in the well being of the school. This creates a more positive school climate….It's all connected, even the little things like leaves all over campus in the fall! Behind the scenes of every program that “just happens,” there’s fundraising, planning, budgeting, and volunteers making magic. The moments that make school feel special really matter. Teachers are the heart of our school, and research shows that when teachers feel supported, the whole school thrives. Kiley Randel is a powerhouse! She brought the SHARE program collaboration to Douglas, helping reduce food waste and ensuring students healthy food options when they need them. Beyond the SHARE program Kiley is always ready to lend a hand and volunteer when we need her, even at the last second. We appreciate her support and attitude so much! Over 40 years of research shows that strong school‑family engagement has a major impact on school improvement and student achievement. At Douglas, the PTA is excited to bring cultural enrichment experiences that expose our children to diverse perspectives. Our PTA board is dedicated to helping students grow in empathy, communication, and understanding. These are skills that will help them personally and professionally in our diverse and global society.
